Cougars, Calamities and Classics: This Fortune Teller Lost Her Ball: Round Two Playoff Predictions
Okay sports fans, so my future career of being a fortune teller has been blown out the window with my first round picks. Three out of the eight teams I predicted moved on, stats nothing short of abysmal. But this little cowgirl is going to buck up and hope for a better showing in round two. Let’s dance!
Chicago vs. Vancouver
Toews, Kane and Havlat have got it going on and Burish is the new agitator for the ages but despite that (as much as I hate to say it) I’m calling for Vancouver to take this series. It’s going to be an awesome match up, a battle royale between Khabibulin and Luongo. Great series, Vancouver in six.
Anaheim vs. Detroit
So that suprising Blue Jackets over the Red Wings upset I called for didn’t happen. I think Anaheim shocked more than a few people when they took out the Sharks. But I don’t think those sneaky ducks have what it takes on to take on the defending Stanley Cup champs and Detroit will take the series in five games.
Carolina vs. Boston
Carolina pulled off a sweet victory over Brodeur and the Devils with that stellar third period play in game seven and now they are facing the big bad double B’s. My fantasies of a Boston/Calgary matchup may have gone up in smoke but I’m still calling for the Big Bears to take it all the way and hoist that cup. Boston in five.
Pittsburgh vs. Washington
This match-up will be a keeper. Malkin and Crosby vs. Ovechkin = good times all around. This one is a toss up for me so I’m giving the decision to my roommate. Her verdict is….Washington. Caps in six.
Let’s hope your second round picks do better than your first round picks Hipkin!
