Cougars, Calamities and Classics:
Cougars-
The Cougars season is winding down to the Christmas break and all our teams are looking pretty darn good. Did you know… The Cougars women’s volleyball team has beaten their rivals, SAIT 20 matches in a row dating back to 2002? Ouch! The women’s team has a record of 11-3 so far this season- two games on Dec.4 and 5 were cancelled due to our lovely weather this past weekend. The team is looking good going into the ACAC Final Eight in February. Stay tuned with The Reflector for updates on how that goes!
The men’s team heads into the break just under .500 with a record of 7-9. They’ll be taking in Final Eight play at SAIT.
Calamities –
NHL bad boy Dan Carcillo of the Philadelphia Flyers has been given four games off following a fight against the Capitals Matt Bradley resulting in a whopping 19 PIM. Lot’s of people are asking why the league has even handed out the four games considering in all fairness that the fisticuffs were within the realms of hockey fight legality (or were they), while others called it a “sucker punch”. Carcillo has 739 PIM in only five season in the NHL, wow.
