Worth a thousand words: Renting a pro lens
What is the difference between a $400 lens and a $2000 lens? The simple answer is $1600, however you look at it the $2000 is a very expensive option for most people. The colors and sharpness that you will get out of the lens however is much to be desired. Recently I rented a Nikon 24-70 f2.8 lens from Vistek. For about $30 a day you can rent a pro lens and use it without having to spend the enormous $2000 price tag the lens carries. This is also a great way to try a lens on an assignment before you go ahead and spend big money. I was very happy with this lens. The sharpness and clarity of my pictures was truly inspiring. Lets just say it is my next buy.
If you think that lens is amazing, you should take a look at the newest Nikon telephoto glass the Nikon AF-S 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II Nikkor Telephoto Zoom Lens; it’s not yet available for rent, but you can lease it.

I hear it is pretty amazing! I can’t wait to try it out on an FX sensor. What do you think about the Tokina 11-16 f2.8?
