Still time for festival fun before summer ends
Though it pains me to have to say it, summer is almost over. But, don’t panic — whether you’ve been living free-and-easy or punching a clock for the last four months, there’s still time to squeeze the last little bit of life out of summer before the school doors clang shut behind you. Festival season isn’t quite over yet, and next weekend is going to be busy in Calgary.
Tired of schedules, tickets, rules and just standing there watching other people do cool stuff? Choose Yer Own festival could be the perfect antidote. It’s a collaborative festival, meaning anyone can facilitate or host anything, and festival-goers get to “choose yer own” schedule and decide what they want to participate in. With everything from a lifesize board game to a slumber party to a dog choir on the roster this year, it shouldn’t be too difficult to find something to join in on. Oh, and did I mention there’s a trapeze you actually get to try out yourself?
When: Friday, Aug. 31 to Sunday, Sept. 2
Where: All over the place
