Cougars’ Corner: Player Profile
#8 Colton de Man
Position: Outside
The Reflector: Describe yourself as a player?
de Man: Very, very competitive. I like being that go-to player on the court. I kind of thrive off of that, and I’ve come into that role in the last couple of years at Mount Royal. I like trying to be someone that the guys look up to on the court.
TR: How do you balance school and sports?
dM: This year it’s really laid back. I have a laid back schedule because it’s my last year, but in the past it just goes back to time management. Planning your classes in accordance with your practice schedule and then any breaks you have pretty much in the library doing your assignments, studying.
TR: Do you have any pre-game rituals?
dM: No, I’m not that type of guy. I just go out and play.
TR: What is your ultimate career goal?
dM: Going and getting a good contract in Europe somewhere. Making some good money while exploring the world.
TR: How would you describe your coaches?
dM: They are also very competitive, they can be pretty hard on guys at times, but it’s only because of that competitiveness. They just want to try to get the best out of their players.
