Heading for the Finish Line
How to enjoy your final weeks of school
Sam Ridgeway, Staff Writer
Congratulations on surviving another school year amazing humans! Classes are ending, the sun is shining and… a series of terrifying exams loom on the horizon.
For many of us, this is the close of the first year of our university career while for some these exams will be our last. No matter how experienced you are with university exams, end-of-semester stress can be exhausting, and surviving them can be hard.
More than anything, it is important to take care of yourself. It’s easy to run on caffeine and chocolate bars when you’re stressed, but your brain works a lot better when you feed it healthier things. Keep your backpack well stocked with healthy foods like nuts, sandwiches, and water and always one little treat to console your broken soul after an exam.
Ensure you are always stocked with your favourite pens and keep your study materials with you all the time – you never know when a study moment can arise – and make flash cards galore! Keeping a few positive reminders in your daunting stack of notes can also be a really helpful way to keep your head on straight during this stressful season.
Once you rock your exams it is time to celebrate! There are always lots of events with friends, on campus and off, that you can attend to celebrate your success (or white-knuckle survival) in this academic year. Enjoy, and live it up – you made it through another year, this summer will be great, and next year will be even better.
If this was your last year at our beautiful school, goodbye! Thank you for being a part of so many peoples’ memories and for bringing what only you could bring to this campus. Good luck in the big bad world. You’ve made it!
